Ronaldo boost for club and country
Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo is targeting the UEFA Champions League game at AC Milan as his comeback date.
It had been expected the Portuguese winger would be out of action for around a month, after limping out of Portugal's 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™ qualifier with Hungary on 10 October with an ankle injury.
But the 24-year-old is confident he will be on the pitch at the San Siro come 3 November.
"The ankle already doesn't hurt me," he told Marca. "I think I am ready to play."
The news will be greatly welcomed by the Spanish giants, who have struggled in his absence, while he would also be available for Portugal's two-legged play-off with Bosnia-Herzegovina for a place at South Africa 2010.
Before his injury, Ronaldo had scored nine goals in his seven competitive games for Real since moving from Manchester United.
Los Merengues have lost two of the three games he has been sidelined for, including a 3-2 defeat at home to Milan.
