Nagoya Grampus defender Takahiro Masukawa will miss next week's AFC Champions League semi-final first-leg tie against Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad after being hospitalised with swine flu.
The 29-year-old will remain under observation at a Toyota hospital in the coming days before returning home for further monitoring and treatment.
Masukawa is therefore ruled out of Wednesday's last-four clash in Jeddah. Nagoya confirmed that no other players nor staff are suffering from the disease.
