Jeju United have parted company with Brazilian coach Arthur Bernardes following six consecutive defeats in the K-League.

Jeju have conceded 20 goals in their last six defeats and have plummeted to third from bottom, just four points clear of basement side Daegu with three games remaining, although there is no relegation from the K-League.

Well-travelled Brazilian Bernardes, 54, took charge of Jeju last season but has twice fallen short of achieving his goal of guiding the island side into the end-of-season play-offs.

"Bernardes told us of his wish to resign a few days ago and today the club decided to accept," a club statement said.

Assistant coach Cho Jin-Ho will take charge for the final three games of the season, with Jeju set to seek a replacement at the end of the season.
