Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio will be out of action until December after undergoing knee surgery today.

The 23-year-old suffered the injury to his right knee during Juve's 2-0 defeat at Palermo on Sunday and was forced to pull out of the Italy squad to face the Republic of Ireland today.

It is a big blow for I Bianconeri as Marchisio has enjoyed a stunning start to the season following his debut for Italy on 12 August.
