Zob-Ahan missed out on a chance to go top of the Iranian Pro League on Tuesday after being held to a goalless draw at home to Sepahan.

Zob-Ahan moved level on points with second-placed Esteghlal, with the pair just a point adrift of leaders Peykan, while Sepahan moved up to fourth, four points off the pace, after Moghavemat suffered a 4-2 defeat at Persepolis.

Karim Bagheri, Hadi Norouzi, Meysam Baou, Hawar Taher all scored for sixth-placed Perspolis before Behnam Afsheh and Mehdi Nazari struck inside the final two minutes for Moghavemat.

Elsewhere, Fereydoon Fazli scored twice as Saba Battery downed Shahin 4-0, Ebrahim Sadeghi netted with eight minutes remaining as Saipa edged out Teraktor Sazi 2-1 and Mahmoud Amneh struck in the last minute as Rah Ahan recorded a 1-0 win at Pas-Hamedan. Finally, winless duo Abumoslem and Foolad shared a 1-1 draw.
