Saudi League defending champions and AFC Champions League semi-finalists Al Ittihad came from a goal down to beat Al Hazm 2-1 in round five of the league.

The win was the fourth consecutive win for Al Ittihad as they went top of the league standings, two points ahead of former leaders Al Hilal while Al Hazm suffered their first defeat this season. Al Hazm took a quick lead as they opened the scoring in the first minute through striker Waleed Al Jizani.

However, Al Ittihad levelled the scores through Moroccan Hicham Aboucherouane who scored the equaliser nine minutes into the second half. The Jeddah giants sealed the win three minutes later through Argentinian striker Luciano Leguizamon who scored the winning goal.
