David Weir admitted Rangers need to learn a number of lessons fast after a humbling 4-1 home loss to Sevilla in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday.
Rangers were outclassed by the Spaniards, who scored four times in the space of 25 second-half minutes. "I don't think (the score reflected the game), but at the end of the day it's a big defeat for us, so obviously we're not happy with it," Weir told Sky Sports.
One positive for Rangers is that Romanian champions Unirea Urziceni held Stuttgart to a draw, leaving the door open in Group G. But they must now pick themselves up quickly with the Old Firm clash with Celtic looming at the weekend.
"One result is not going to make or break your Champions League campaign at this stage," Naismith added. "There are some harsh lessons here, we need to look at our mistakes, look at the positive notes and go on from there."
