In-form striker Jung Jo-gook grabbed his second brace in the space of four days to give Seoul a 3-0 win at home to Daejeon Citizen and regain their place at the top of the table.
Jung also scored twice in Qatar in midweek to give Seoul a 2-0 lead in the first leg of their Asian Champions League tie against Umm Salal, only for the hosts to come back to win 3-2. The second leg takes place in Seoul World Cup Stadium on Wednesday and Jung reminded the West Asians he will be a man to be watched.
The leaders needed just five minutes to open the scoring, although it came in slightly fortuitous fashion. Dejan Damjanovic took advantage of Daejeon's defensive hesitation to volley a bouncing ball against the inside of the post.
The rebound hit the prostrate form of goalkeeper Choi Sun-sung and ended in the path of Jung, who could not miss from a yard out.
Three minutes before the break Jung headed home a Ki Sung-yong free-kick from close range. Substitute striker Lee Sang-hyob drove home the third with ten minutes remaining.
Seoul's win meant that Jeonbuk Motors' stay at the top of the league lasted just two hours. Jeonbuk produced a smash-and-grab performance to take the three points with a 1-0 win at Incheon United.
The hosts missed a number of chances, but with five minutes remaining, substitute Brasilia picked up a pass from compatriot Luis on the edge of the box and skipped past a weak challenge from an Incheon defender to neatly slot the ball into the back of the net.
