Zenit St. Petersburg have climbed up to third place, leapfrogging CSKA Moscow after beating the capital club 2-0.

Mateja Kezman opened the scoring with a penalty on the stroke of half-time and Vladimir Bystrov made sure of the points with a strike three minutes before the end of the match.

FC Moscow piled misery on struggling Khimki in a 3-0 defeat in which Martin Jakubko, Pavel Golshev and Zvonimir Vukic found the net, the latter with a late penalty.

Dinamo Moscow came away from the latest capital derby with bragging rights as Luis Aguiar's 13th minute goal made sure of a 1-0 win.
