Peykan regained leadership of the Iran Pro League with a 2-1 victory at Perspolis.
Mohammad Reza Tahmasebi gave the visitors the lead after 17 minutes and Ali Ghorbani doubled the advantage just after the hour mark. Meysam Baou pulled a goal back with quarter of an hour to go but Perspolis were unable to fashion an equaliser.
Moghavemat missed the chance to go third after they were held to a 1-1 draw at Steel Azin. Both goals came on the stroke of full time, Mohammad Reza Mahdavi scoring for the hosts and Mostafa Sabri netting for Moghavemat.
Sepahan leapfrogged Saba Battery following a 3-1 win.
Ehsan Hajysafi and Ahmad Jamshidian put Sepahan two up inside 22 minutes before Saba's Davoud Haghi halved the deficit in the 34th minute. Emad Mohammed struck three minutes later, however, to sew up the points for Sepahan.
At the other end of the table, Foolad remain winless after eight games following a 1-0 defeat at Teraktor Sazi, Mohammadali Ebrahimian scoring the crucial goal 10 minutes after the break.
Elsewhere, Mehdi Rajabzadeh's last-minute strike salvaged a 2-2 draw for Mes with Rah Ahan, Est-Ahvaz and Shahin also drew by the same score while Saipa beat Malavan 3-1.
