Grasshoppers' miserable start to the Super League season continued this evening as they slumped to a fifth defeat in eight matches with a 3-1 reverse at home to Neuchatel Xamax.

Veroljub Salatic fired the hosts ahead after eight minutes but Ideye Brown levelled for Neuchatel on the stroke of the interval.

Brown doubled his tally from the penalty spot after 55 minutes while a further penalty after 58 minutes, this time converted by Sebastian Wuthrich, made the points safe for the visitors.

The win moves Neuchatel into third place, ten points behind runaway leaders Young Boys, while Grasshoppers stay third from bottom on seven points.
