Monaco have reached an agreement with Barcelona for the transfer of Eidur Gudjohnsen to the French club. The fee for the 30-year-old Iceland international could rise to €2 million depending on performances, Barcelona have confirmed.
Gudjohnsen joined Barcelona from Chelsea in 2006 and although he was unable to tie down a regular first-team spot at the Nou Camp, he played 72 league games and helped the Catalan giants win the UEFA Champions League, Primera Division and Copa del Rey last season.
In a statement confirming the deal on club website, Monaco revealed Gudjohnsen had signed a two-year deal at Stade Louis II and would wear the No9 shirt.
Monaco also confirmed they have completed a deal to sign 23-year-old midfielder Mathieu Coutadeur from Le Mans on a four-year deal.
