Nine-man Al Shabab dropped their first points of the new Saudi League yesterday as they let slip a two-goal advantage to draw 2-2 against Al Wahda.
King's Cup champions Al Shabab opened the scoring through Nasser Al Shamrani after 24 minutes but were reduced to 10 men six minutes into the second half as defender Naif Al Qadi was sent off. The hosts were nevertheless able to double their cushion two minutes after the hour-mark through Hassan Maaz.
But Mokhtar Falattah pulled a goal back for Al Wahda six minutes later and then Al Shabab lost another man through the dismissal of Sanad Sharahili with 19 minutes remaining as the tide turned in the visitors' favour. Just a minute later, Moroccan striker Youssef Kaddioui converted from the penalty spot to earn Al Wahda a second point of the season.
Elsewhere, Al Nasr picked up their first point of the campaign with a 1-1 draw at Al Ittifaq. An own goal from Saudi Arabia defender Hussain Sulaimani handed Al Ittifaq the lead eight minutes before the break, but Sulaimani made amends by equalising for Al Nasr 19 minutes from time.
