Bordeaux turned in a fine second-half performance to overrun Nice and take their place at the top of the table. Nice started stronger, but never got a sniff in after Jussie put the hosts ahead two minutes before the break.
Yoann Gourcuff grabbed a couple after the break before Alou Diarra put the icing on the cake in the 76th minute.
Loic Remy was the best player on the pitch in the opening stages and crossed for Julien Sable, who went close for Nice with a left-foot volley. Bordeaux appealed for a penalty when Wendel clashed with Nice defender Gerald Cid inside the area, while Sable again went close with a powerful strike from 30 yards.
The deadlock was eventually broken by Les Girondins as the interval approached. Benoit Tremoulinas provided the perfect cross for Jussie, who headed home beyond the diving David Ospina.
A second goal followed six minutes after the restart when Chamakh played a one-two with Gourcuff before the latter fired the ball into the net from ten yards. There was further evidence it was not going to be Nice's afternoon soon after when Remy saw his effort cleared off the line by Mickael Ciani.
Bordeaux breached their opponents' defence again after 70 minutes, with Gouffran playing in Gourcuff for the France midfielder to smash the ball high into the net.
And the final goal was scored five minutes later by Diarra, who rose highest to meet Wendel's free-kick and head neatly into the bottom right corner.
