St Etienne claim they have reached an agreement to sign Boubacar Sanogo from Werder Bremen.
The Ivorian striker should pen a three-year deal once he passes his medical tomorrow, St Etienne's director general Vincent Tong-Cuong told official club website.
Tong-Cuong is quoted as saying: "I have been in Bremen for several days in order to sign Boubacar Sanogo.
"We have come to an agreement with Werder this Wednesday afternoon. The player will take his medical at St Etienne tomorrow and if everything goes well, he will sign a three-year contract."
St Etienne have been looking to sign a striker since they sold Bafetimbi Gomis to Rhone-Alps rivals Lyon for 13 million euros last month.
The fee for the transfer of Sanogo has not been disclosed.
