Molde missed out on the chance to close the gap on Tippeligaen leaders Rosenborg as they slipped to a 2-1 defeat at Viking.

The second-placed team took the lead in the 17th minute through Aksel Skjolsvik - and they maintained the advantage until half-time.

However, Birkir Bjarnason equalised five minutes into the second half and Martin Fillo's 78th-minute winner for the home side means Molde still trail Rosenborg by seven points and the pacesetters now have a game in hand.

In Sweden, Malmo's miserable season continued as they lost 2-1 at home to Hacken in the Allsvenska.

Ricardinho cancelled out Tom Soderberg's opener for the visitors in the 35th minute but early in the second half Paulinho scored what proved to be the winner. Gabriel was sent off for Malmo in added time.

AIK won 2-1 at Halmstads after coming from behind. Mikael Rosen put Halmstads ahead in the ninth minute before Mauro Obolo quickly levelled with Kenny Pavey scoring what proved to be the winner nine minutes before the break.

Elsewhere GAIS beat Orgryte 1-0 courtesy of Par Eriksson's 53rd-minute winner while Orebro beat Djurgardens 2-0 at home.

Meanwhile in Denmark, Odense regained second place in the SAS-Liga tonight with a 1-0 home win over Midtjylland.
