Andre-Pierre Gignac has signed a one-year extension to his contract at Toulouse, tying him to the Ligue 1 club until 2013.
The striker was the top scorer in Ligue 1 last season with 24 goals, and netted France's winner in their 1-0 victory over the Faroe Islands in a 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™ qualifier on Wednesday.
Les Violets announced the news this morning in a statement released on their official club website. "Andre-Pierre Gignac has just extended his contract with Toulouse until 2013," the statement read.
Lyon tried to sign Gignac this summer, but a number of bids from Les Gones were dismissed by Toulouse.
The statement continued: "It is a strong sign which indicates the desire of the club to keep its best individuals as well as that of the player to show how attached he is to Les Violets."
