Newly-promoted Qatar League side Al Ahli have acquired the services of Iran international Rahman Rezaei, the club have announced.

Al Ahli tempted the 34-year-old defender away from Persepolis with a one-year deal worth $700,000 USD.

"I'm happy to join Al Ahli," Rezaei told the club's website. "Al Ahli are a good side and they have a lot of talented players that will help the team achieve a good position in the league next season."

Rezaei spent a large part of his career in Italy, moving to Perugia in 2001 before joining Messina two years later. He then signed for Livorno, where he spent two seasons.
