Vitesse Arnhem have signed defender Calvin Jong-A-Pin on a season-long loan from Heerenveen. Under the terms of the deal, Vitesse have an option to buy the former Holland youth international for a fixed fee if he impresses coach Theo Bos.

Jong-A-Pin, 23, has two years remaining on his contract at Heerenveen, but found himself squeezed out of the first-team picture last season as Goran Popov established himself. The left-back joined Heerenveen from FC Volendam in 2006 and made 44 appearances.
