Lorient defender Mickael Ciani hopes his move to French champions Bordeaux can be tied up as soon as possible.

Les Girondins have been looking for a centre-back to plug the gap left by Souleymane Diawara's move to Marseille earlier this summer.

In an interview with French newspaper L'Equipe, Ciani claimed Bordeaux are in talks with Lorient about his transfer.

"For the moment, I am waiting for the two clubs to come to an agreement. It's held up a bit, and it is taking time," the 25-year-old said.

"But I know I will leave. It is the moment for me to leave and I will leave. I want to sign for Bordeaux.

"I've had (Bordeaux coach) Laurent Blanc on the phone. You can't refuse Bordeaux. I don't want to miss the train."

Ciani, who has also been linked with a move to Marseille this summer, has spent the past three years at Lorient.
