Former Spain striker Diego Tristan has joined newly-promoted Segunda Division side Cadiz.

The 33-year-old, who scored four goals in 15 appearances for Spain, was a free agent after playing for West Ham United in the English Premier League last season.

Andalusia-born Tristan started his career at Real Betis before also going on to play for Mallorca (twice), Deportivo and Italian side Livorno.

Tristan's most successful season came in 2001/02, when he struck 21 league goals for Depor to claim the Pichichi award as La Liga's top scorer.

The veteran forward will be officially presented by Cadiz this afternoon at the Estadio Ramon de Carranza.
