Juventus are keen to lure Barcelona defender Martin Caceres to Turin on a one-year loan deal. I Bianconeri are looking to reinforce their backline and believe the Uruguay international would be an ideal candidate.
"We are evaluating the possibility to acquire defender Martin Caceres on loan from Barcelona," said Juventus club administrator Jean-Claude Blanc to Corriere dello Sport.
"He is a great player, young, strong and determined. He would be useful to complete our roster."
The 22-year-old centre-back joined Barcelona from Villarreal last summer for a reported €16.5m. Caceres, who is under contract with Barça until June 2012, made just 12 league appearances for the La Liga champions last season.
Blanc has brushed aside reports linking Italy international Fabio Grosso with a move to Juve. The Lyon left-back has been strongly linked with a return to Serie A, having joined French giants from Inter Milan in 2007.
"I'm going to be honest, Grosso does not interest us," said Blanc. "He is under contract (until June 2012) and is not a free agent like Fabio Cannavaro. I don't think it's a good investment signing a 32-year-old who has a buy-out clause."
