Neuchâtel Xamax moved to the top of the fledgling Swiss Super League standings with a 3-0 triumph over Zurich. Raphael Nuzzolo put the hosts in the ascendancy on the half-hour mark and then a second-half brace from Ideye Brown, the first from the penalty spot, sealed matters.

The win takes Xamax onto four points from two games, while Zurich have yet to put a point on the board.

Costanzo to the rescue
Elsewhere in Switzerland, Young Boys and St Gallen battled out a 1-1 draw.

Seydou Doumbia opened the scoring for the home team after 20 minutes only for Moreno Costanzo to nick a point for the visitors in the second half.

The result leaves St Gallen and Young Boys second and third respectively, behind Neuchâtel on goal difference with four points from two games.
