AC Milan have not given up hope of signing Sevilla striker Luis Fabiano.

The Brazil international is the Rossoneri's top transfer target but their €14 million bid was rejected out of hand by the Spanish club earlier this week.

Sevilla president Jose Maria Del Nido is adamant the player will not be sold on the cheap but Milan vice executive president Adriano Galliani suggested an agreement could still be reached.

"We made an offer that we considered to be correct," said Galliani. "If the Sevilla president considers our €14 million offer to be ridiculous, lucky him.

"The negotiations will continue even though there is a gap from the asking price and our offer. We shall see."

Fabiano has a £26 million release clause and is under contract with Sevilla for a further two seasons.
