Marseille have continued their heavy summer recruitment by sealing a deal for goalkeeper Elinton Andrade, but are about to show the door to winger Mathieu Valbuena.

Andrade, 30, should join OM from Rapid Bucharest today once he passes his medical, after agreeing a one-year contract. The fee for the transfer has not been disclosed. He will act as back-up to first-choice custodian Steve Mandanda.

Cyril Rool, Stephane M'Bia, Lucho Gonzalez, Edouard Cisse, Charley Fomen and Souleymane Diawara are the other players to have joined Marseille this summer.

Mickael Ciani could be next. The Lorient centre-back is the chief target of coach Didier Deschamps, who is looking for one more signing to bolster his defence.

Valbuena is likely to leave, though, after being told he would struggle for game time under Deschamps in the forthcoming season. "Mathieu knows which system we are going to play, and he understood he would have little playing time," said Marseille's sporting director Jose Anigo.

"He wants to play, which is normal. I am not saying he is going to leave but if he gets offers, we will study them, that's for sure."
