Paris Saint-Germain have confirmed Jerome Rothen has been suspended for seven and a half days for comments made about the club in a recent interview. PSG called a meeting with the winger on Friday to ask him to explain himself.
The Parisian heavyweights have now announced Rothen, who was jeered at by fans at training following his outburst, will be able to join back up with his team-mates on Saturday.
"Following the meeting they had with Jerome Rothen last Friday, the Paris St Germain board have decided to suspend him for seven and a half days, until the night of July 10," read a statement on the club's official website.
"This punishment follows on from the comments made by Jerome Rothen in the June 1 issue of the daily L'Equipe. "The past has thus been settled and Jerome Rothen will rejoin his team-mates at the training camp at Port-Crouesty from July 11."
Rothen openly slammed the PSG board and president Sebastien Bazin in L'Equipe, concluding that "with such management I can't stay".
The 31-year-old, who has spent five seasons at the club, has been linked with a move to Blackburn Rovers and other English Premier League teams but, PSG have insisted they still want to keep him at the Parc des Princes.
