Real Madrid forward Gonzalo Higuain will not be seeking a move away from the Bernabeu despite the expected arrival of a number of big-name attacking players this summer.

Kaka has already agreed to join the Primera Division club from AC Milan in a £56 million deal while Manchester United winger Cristiano Ronaldo is poised to complete an £80 million transfer in the coming days.

Valencia's David Villa and Bayern Munich's Franck Ribery are also believed to be on the radar of new Madrid president Florentino Perez, who is eager for the club to recruit a new breed of 'galacticos'. The high-profile spending spree has cast doubt on the futures of the club's existing players, but Higuain is determined to stay and fight for a place in new coach Manuel Pellegrini's starting XI.

The Argentinian broke the 20-goal barrier during an impressive campaign for Madrid last season and insists he is buoyed by the prospect of new names coming to the club. "The arrival of high-quality players makes me be more motivated," admitted the 21-year-old, who joined Madrid from River Plate in January 2007.

"Last season was my best since I arrived here and I am very happy. The coach (Pellegrini's predecessor Juande Ramos) showed confidence in me and I managed to prove my best position is at forward and that I work well there," he added to TyC Sports channel.
