Nagoya Grampus have signed Australia international Joshua Kennedy from Bundesliga side Karlsruhe, the J.League club have announced.

Kennedy is expected to arrive in Nagoya once he obtains a visa and manager Dragan Stojkovic is hoping to have the 26-year-old forward available by early July at the latest.

Kennedy will also be eligible to play for Nagoya from the quarter-final stage of the Asian Champions League, provided they can overcome Suwon Bluewings in the last 16 next Wednesday.

He has previously played for German clubs Wolfsburg, Stuttgart, Cologne and Nurnberg and made eight appearances for Australia during their successful FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign, scoring three times.

"I'm so happy that I have joined the Nagoya Grampus family," Kennedy said.

"I'm very much looking forward to a new challenge with the team and would like to score many goals for the Nagoya supporters."
