Roberto Martinez has finally been named the new manager of Wigan Athletic on a three-year contract after negotiations with Swansea City regarding his backroom staff were resolved.

The 35-year-old Spaniard was due to be unveiled last Thursday but proceedings were delayed by wrangles over his support team.

However, Wigan have now agreed to pay additional compensation for Swansea's assistant manager Graeme Jones and chief scout Kevin Reeves, who were both under contract.

Goalkeeping coach Inaki Bergara and masseur Oscar Brau are also set to move to the English Premier League club.
