Roberto Martinez's move from Swansea City to Wigan Athletic edged closer to completion as the clubs agreed a compensation package for the Spaniard's backroom staff.
The clubs had already agreed a fee of £2million for Martinez's services, but have now negotiated a figure for assistant manager Graeme Jones, chief scout Kevin Reeves, goalkeeping coach Inaki Bergara and masseur Oscar Brau.
Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins said: "I don't think either club are totally happy with the final compensation figure agreed for the backroom staff.
"But I think both clubs realise that this matter now needs to be concluded so that we can all move on and prepare for the new season.
"The new fixture list is out on Wednesday and we are determined to be ready for the new Championship campaign when it kicks off on August 8," said Jenkins.
"We are also determined to start the campaign strongly and keep Swansea moving forward as a football club."
