Eredivisie newcomers VVV Venlo have been granted permission by the Dutch football authorities to rebuild their stadium.

The seats on the eastern stand of the Seacon Stadium will be removed and replaced with standing area, with the lay-outs in other stands also set to be changed in order that the venue may hold more than 7,500.

Currently all top-flight Dutch teams must have all-seated stadiums, however VVV proposed to the KNVB that they introduce a standing area to boost their capacity.

The club sold all of their 6,000 season-tickets last summer, ensuring full houses for every match.

VVV won the Jupiler League to secure a swift return to the Eredivisie, a year after their relegation.
