Roda JC striker Sekou Cisse has finally made a decision on his future, declaring it will be Twente - and not Feyenoord - that he will be joining.
The 24-year-old Ivorian frontman has reportedly already signed a pre-contract with the Eredivisie outfit, but then had his head turned by Feyenoord at the 11th hour. However, Cisse has now declared he wants to join Steve McClaren's team.
"I want to go to Twente to play in the Champions League and to develop myself further as player," he told De Telegraaf by telephone from Côte d'Ivoire, where he is preparing for the World Cup qualifier against Burkina Faso. "I have had a good talk with Mario Been, the coach from Feyenoord. But that club couldn't pay me. I therefore now opt for FC Twente and I told Been that too."
The deal now hinges on the two clubs agreeing a fee, but at present there seems to be a substantial difference between Roda's asking price and what Twente are willing to pay.
Cisse added: "I really hope that Roda JC won't deny me this chance. I have always worked hard for the club and I am ready to step forward. There is also interest in me from France, but I want to join Twente, where my friend Cheik Tiote also plays."
