Internacional doubled their lead at the top of the Campeonato Brasileirao after sharing a 1-1 draw with Cruzeiro in Belo Horizonte.

Magrao handed Copa do Brasil finalists Internacional a perfect start as he headed home Andrezinho's corner after just four minutes. Both side's were reduced to ten men 13 minutes later as Cruzeiro forward Kleber and Internacional goalkeeper Lauro were both dismissed. And Wellington Paulista equalised for Cruzeiro after substitute custodian Ze Carlos failed to hold Ze Carlos' shot.

"It was a peculiar game because of the red cards," said Internacional defender Danny Morais. "We controlled the game. The result is not bad. Gaining one point is a big achievement."

Atletico Mineiro had earlier moved up to second place after recording a convincing 4-0 win over ten-man Atletico Paranaense. Junior opened the scoring for Geninho's Mineiro in the 28th minute before Atletico Paranaense midfielder Marcinho was dismissed after fouling Thiago Feltri.

Diego Tardelli widened the gap four minutes after the hour mark before a late brace from Eder Luis sealed the win for unbeaten Mineiro. "The team have been playing well both home and away," Tardelli told SporTV. "It is very important in the tournament."

Elsewhere, Mauricio Ramos scored in injury time as Palmeiras completed s 2-1 comeback win over Vitoria. Vitoria took the lead in the first minute of the second half through Apodi after a swift counter attack.

But Paraguayan forward Jose Ortigoza equalised five minutes after the hour mark before Ramos handed Palmeiras their second win to push Vitoria down to third. Weldon struck a first half hat-trick as Emerson Leao made a successful debut as Sport coach as his new charges fought back from 2-0 down to beat Flamengo 4-2 at home, while Fred headed home with two minutes remaining to snatch Fluminense a 1-0 win over Botafogo at the Maracana.

Fluminense moved up to seventh, five points behind Internacional after beating winless Botafogo. Finally, reigning three-time champions Sao Paulo continued to struggle after being held to a goalless draw by newly-promoted Avai, while Goias and Gremio Barueri drew 2-2.
