Sunderland have been invited to take part in the Amsterdam tournament in July.

The Wearsiders, who yesterday named Steve Bruce as their new manager, will line up alongside hosts Ajax, Atletico Madrid and Benfica.

Sunderland chairman Niall Quinn told the club's official website: "This is a very prestigious tournament and it's fantastic for the club to be involved."

The event takes place between 24 and 26 July.
