Ghana defender Nana Asare is to join Utrecht from Mechelen.

The 22-year-old, whose contract with the Belgian side ran until 2011, is expected to be unveiled at a press conference this afternoon.

Asare, who can play as a left-back or on the left side of midfield, has won three caps for his country.
