Kirk Broadfoot has admitted he is unlikely to feature again for Rangers this season.

The defender has been out of action since the Co-operative Insurance Cup final defeat by Celtic in March with a metatarsal injury.

He is now resigned to playing no part in the climax to the season as Rangers chase a Scottish league and cup double.

He told The Herald: "I kept coming back and it just got sorer and sorer, to the extent I wasn't doing myself justice any more and my performances were dropping.

"I would like to say there is a chance of playing again this season but realistically I have brought myself to realise I won't be.

"If there is, then that is a bonus but what I don't want to do is jeopardise next season."
