Dutch coach Huub Stevens will replace his countryman Co Adriaanse as manager of Red Bull Salzburg in the summer, the Austrian league leaders have announced.
He will join the Austrian club on a two-year contract, Salzburg added. Stevens, 55, resigned from PSV Eindhoven in January after less than a season, following underwhelming results that saw the Dutch champions slip to fifth in the Eredivisie, and differences with the players.
Salzburg, meanwhile, announced earlier this month that Adriaanse's contract would not be renewed. Adriaanse, who was named Manager of the Year in Portugal in 2006 after securing a league and cup double with Porto, only joined Salzburg last summer after the departure of current Republic of Ireland coach Giovanni Trapattoni.
Red Bull Salzburg are top of the Austrian league table, 10 points clear of last season's champions Rapid Vienna.
