Inter Milan forward Mario Balotelli, who collapsed during yesterday's Coppa Italia semi-final, has discharged himself from hospital in Genoa.

The teenager fell to the ground and complained of respiratory problems, just seconds after he had collided with a post during Inter's 3-0 first-leg defeat at Sampdoria.

Balotelli was carried from the field on a stretcher and taken to hospital.

But hospital sources said they had wanted to keep the 18-year-old in overnight, only for him to discharge himself and leave.
