In 1930, aged just 27 years and eight months, he managed the Argentinian team in the first ever World Cup and reached the final game. Conversely, Otto Rehhagel, coach of the Greek team at the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ claimed the record of being the oldest ever World Cup coach as he was 71 years of age during South Africa 2010.
