Qualification history
San Marino have yet to win a qualifier since joining FIFA in 1988. Their two most memorable results were holding Turkey to a goalless draw at home in qualifying for the 1994 FIFA World Cup USA™, and a 1-1 stalemate in Lithuania in April 2001 in the run-up to Korea/Japan 2002.

The team
On 15 November 2014 San Marino chalked up their first ever point in UEFA European Championship qualifying thanks to a scoreless draw against Estonia. Goalkeeper Aldo Simoncini impressed that day and enjoys plenty of opportunities to show off his talent, though the big star remains striker Andy Selva, who is also the captain.

The coach
Pierangelo Manzaroli earned 38 caps for San Marino before hanging up his boots. The ex-midfielder was handed the coaching baton on 15 February 2014, replacing Giampaolo Mazza, who stepped down in October 2013 after 15 years of loyal, distinguished service.

The stat
1 - San Marino have mustered just a solitary victory in more than 120 official matches, which was a 1-0 friendly defeat of Liechtenstein on 28 April 2004.
