Qualification history
Dominican Republic took their FIFA World Cup™ qualifying bow in the preliminaries for Argentina 1978 but did not reappear until the France 1998 campaign, where they progressed through two rounds in the CONCACAF zone, their best showing to date.

Belize proved to be too big of a task for the Dominicans, beating them 5-1 on aggregate during the second round of CONCACAF World Cup qualifying.
