FIFA World Cup™ finals history
Angola acquitted themselves admirably at Germany 2006, their only finals appearance to date. Flavio Amado scored their one and only FIFA World Cup goal as they drew with Mexico and Iran after losing 1-0 to eventual semi-finalists Portugal. The Palancas Negras have failed to build on that success, faltering on the road to South Africa 2010 after a fast start and disappointing in qualifying for Brazil 2014 with just one win from six matches.
Road to Russia 2018
Angola were beaten by South Africa in the second round of World Cup qualifying, dropping a 4-1 aggregate score result over two legs.
