Qualification history
Cambodia’s most momentous international achievement was a surprise appearance in the 1972 AFC Asian Cup semi-finals. However, that fairytale run proved to be a flash in the pan for the south-east Asians, who have since made little impression on the continental stage. Their record in FIFA World Cup™ qualifying has been similarly disappointing, with their four attempts all ending in early elimination, including losing 8-6 on aggregate to Laos in the preliminary qualifying round for 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™.
