Qualification history
When tiny Macau entered Asia's opening round of qualifying for the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™, few gave them a chance of progressing beyond the first stage. To do so would mean overturning history, with Macau having yet to progress beyond the opening stage in their five FIFA World Cup campaigns dating back to 1994. Keen to break new ground, though, they were found lacking again in qualifying for Brazil 2014, suffering an early exit after losing to Vietnam by an incredible 13-1 margin on aggregate.
