The US Virgin Islands have only played a small number of games in their history and those have usually been against their near neighbours and namesakes, the British Virgin Islands. Neither have been competitive in regional tournaments in the CONCACAF zone and neither have threatened to make any mark in the region’s qualification competitions for the FIFA World Cup™ or the CONCACAF Gold Cup. The US Virgin Islands, however, kept themselves alive in the unlikely hunt for a place in Brazil in 2014 after the first hurdle, before hitting a brick wall in the first group stage. They lost all six of their games, conceding 40 goals and scoring just twice.
