Ticket Sales Phases
Ticket sales for the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™ will commence on 20 February 2009 and terminate on 11 July 2010. During this sales period there will be 5 distinct Ticket Sales Phases. The dates as set out in the schedule are all subject to possible change without prior notice.
The period from 20 February 2009 to 7 April 2010 is divided into 4 separate Ticket Sales Phases during which Ticket applications are processed either subject to a random selection draw process for Tickets that are oversubscribed or on a first-come-first served basis subject to availability. The 5th and final Ticket Sales Phase is referred to as the “Last Minute Sales Phase” and will take place from 15 April to 11 July 2010.
When can I apply for Tickets?
In order to ensure a fair and transparent allocation of tickets, even with ticket demand exceeding ticket supply, and in order to provide as many interested persons as possible with tickets, the procedure for ticket allocation for the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™ has been divided into five phases. Between the individual phases no applications can be submitted. The dates given below are all subject to possible change without prior notice.
Random Selection Draw Sales Phases
Ticket applications are received throughout the full period of a Random Selection Sales Phase. All applications received during the Sales Phase have an equal chance of success, regardless of whether they are received by the FWCTC at the beginning or at the end of the Sales Phase. If the number of available tickets for a specific match and ticket product or category is greater than the number of applications received for such match and ticket product or category, tickets will be allocated and confirmed for all valid requests. If, however, the demand exceeds the number of tickets available for the match and ticket product or category requested, tickets will be allocated to the successful applicants via a random selection draw. All applicants will be contacted within approximately 3 days after the random selection draw process has been completed to confirm whether or not they have been successful.
First-Come-First-Served Sales Phases
Ticket applications received during these Sales Phases are processed according to the order in which they are received and subject to availability. Customers will be contacted within approximately ten working days after submitting their application to the teller at the FNB branch to confirm whether or not their application has been successful.
