No, it is not necessary for you to reside in the country whose national team you wish to support. You may apply for a TST Series for any team.
Why is a TST Series to follow South Africa more expensive than for other teams?
South Africa will be playing in the opening match for the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™. The opening match includes the Opening Ceremony and is a more expensive ticket than the other group matches. For this reason, the TST is more expensive for South Africa and will also be more expensive for Team A2 (to be confirmed after the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™ Final Draw in December 2009).
What are the different Ticket categories and their prices?
Please refer to the relevant Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's) by selecting the link below specific to your residency.

When can I apply for Tickets?
In order to ensure a fair and transparent allocation of tickets, the procedure for ticket allocation for the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™ has been divided into five phases. These phases are intended to allow periods when tickets are allocated based on random selection draws and periods when tickets are allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. These phases are described in more detail below. This system was designed to address the fact that demand for tickets to many matches will exceed ticket supply, and to provide as many fans as possible with tickets.
Between the individual phases no applications can be submitted.
The dates given below are all subject to possible change without prior notice.
First sales phase: 20th February 2009 to 31st March 2009
During this sales phase, the allocation process will involve a random selection draw for all over-subscribed Matches or Team Specific Tickets. The first sales phase random selection draw will take place on 15th April 2009. Please note: it makes no difference whether you apply early, on 20th February 2009, or late, on 31st March 2009. Each correctly submitted application will have the same opportunity of being successful in the draw.
Second sales phase: 4th May 2009 to 16th November 2009
Ticket applications submitted during this sales phase will be processed, subject to availability, on a first-come-first-served basis - in the order the application is received.
Third sales phase: 5th December 2009 to 22nd January 2010
The procedure is the same as that of phase one: all correctly submitted applications received during this sales phase will be considered for allocation. If the number of applications for Match or Team Specific tickets exceeds the number of tickets available, tickets will be allocated by a random selection draw taking place on 1st February 2010. Please note: it makes no difference whether you apply early, on 5th December 2009, or late, on 22nd January 2010. Each correctly submitted application will have the same opportunity of being successful in the draw.
Fourth sales phase: 9th February 2010 to 7th April 2010
Ticket applications submitted during this sales phase will be processed, subject to availability, on a first-come-first-served basis - in the order of receipt.
Final / Last Minute sales phase: 15th April 2010 to 11th July 2010
Ticket applications will be processed on a first-come-first-served basis, however Ticket transactions will be conducted immediately at the point of sale.

In accordance with the Sales Regulations and General Terms and Conditions that each ticket holder agreed to in connection with the ticket application process, ticket holders may not sell, offer for sale, resell, donate or otherwise transfer their ticket in any way, without the specific prior written approval of FIFA. Transfer requests will be considered in accordance with the Ticket Transfer Policy defined by FIFA and available on http://www.fifa.com/ once issued. The purposes for the rule limiting ticket transfers include: (a) event security, (b) consumer protection, and (c) economic fairness as described generally below.
What if my ticket is lost, destroyed or stolen?
TREAT YOUR TICKETS WITH CARE AND KEEP THEM IN A SAFE LOCATION AT ALL TIMES. Due to security concerns, duplicate Tickets will not be issued, because duplicate Tickets could result in more spectators entering the Stadium than the Stadium could safely accommodate. If you know that your ticket has been lost or stolen, please contact the FWCTC immediately. Click here for FWCTC's contact details.
Can I choose where I sit?
No. Seating is determined by the category of ticket purchased and a specific seat will be assigned to each ticket.
Seats in category 1 are generally located alongside the pitch.
Seats in category 2 are generally located adjacent to category 1, in the corners.
Seats in category 3 are generally located adjacent to category 2 behind the goals or in the corners.
Seats in category 4 are generally located behind the goals, and are only available to residents of South Africa.
Each Stadium is configured differently, however, so the general rules should not be considered definitive in each circumstance.
Tickets for seats requested on one Ticket Application will, wherever possible, be allocated adjacent to one another. FIFA cannot offer adjacent seats to persons submitting separate Ticket Applications. Seats may not always be allocated together in the same section or block of seats.
Are there Tickets for persons with wheelchairs?
A limited number of Tickets for wheelchair users will be available exclusively for persons who, due to disability, are unable to attend a football match without using a wheelchair. All wheelchair users applying for Tickets must select a Wheelchair Ticket. For each purchased Wheelchair Ticket a complimentary Ticket will be provided for a companion. Please note that the companion's details will also be requested (first name, surname, date of birth and passport / South African ID reference).
What if I am disabled and need other accommodations?
Ticket Applicants with other disabilities, including visual impairment, requiring specific accommodation recognised by law should contact the FIFA World Cup Ticketing Centre via enquiries@2010fwctc.com regarding their specific requirements.
Why didn't I get the category I applied for?
This is because the category you applied for was not available and you selected the option whereby you agreed to accept Tickets of a lower category if your original choice was not available.
Who can I ask if I have a question regarding the ticket application process?
Please refer to the "Frequently Asked Questions" section. Should your question still be unanswered please contact the FWCTC. Please click here for the contact details of the FWCTC.
What is FIFA doing about hooligans?
