Manuel Negrete’s sublime volley for Mexico against Bulgaria at Mexico 1986 has been voted by football fans around the globe as the greatest goal scored at the FIFA World Cup™.
From 31 March to 9 April, FIFA invited fans to take part in the FIFA World Cup Greatest Goals bracket on the official FIFA World Cup Facebook page, narrowing down their choice from 32 wonder goals scored at the tournament through the years.
Negrete overcame Eder's outstanding long-range volley against USSR at Spain 1982 in the finale. Both overcame tough competition to make it to the final two, before Negrete was crowned by fans as the greatest. Watch the two finalists in the below video.
