Brazil became the first team to join hosts Russia at the 2018 FIFA World Cup™ after securing qualification in March this year. Three editions of the finals have passed since the five-time champions last tasted global glory, when Luiz Felipe Scolari's side lifted the Trophy at Korea/Japan 2002.
Though not a member of that 2002 A Seleção side, former Brazil midfielder Edu Gaspar took immense pride in seeing his friends and future international team-mates add a fifth star to their crest. The Copa America and FIFA Confederations Cup winner reflects on that special night in Yokohama, when talisman Ronaldo got the party started after getting the better of legendary goalkeeper Oliver Kahn.
