FIFA Secretary General Jérôme Valcke is travelling to Rio de Janeiro from 24-27 March for a series of meetings regarding the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

This is the last occasion for the organisers to take stock of the operational preparations before the respective FIFA World Cup installations begin to be implemented in all twelve host cities. As such, any envisaged on-site host city visits will be rescheduled to the next tour planned for the end of April.

The meetings will culminate in the Board meeting of the Local Organising Committee on 27 March at the Maracana Stadium. It will be followed by a media briefing to provide an update on the preparations for the 20th edition of football’s flagship event that kicks off in 84 days in São Paulo.
